Fun Run 2021

The fun run is a event that happens at Awapuni School. In Stead of the cross country since of covid we made a fun run which includes heaps of fun activitys such mud pit, haybales, tires and much more. 

My favorite part was when we jumped over these boxes since I was tall enough to jump over it like it was a normal thing for me

My least favorite was was the tires since we had to jump some and go under some which was hurting me a little bit but I loved all of the equitment that was there for the fun run.

 

Amusement park

I wrote about one of my favorite moments which was when I went to Australia Gold Coast and went to a amusment park. It had heaps of rides and food and shows which was awesome, and photos were taken secretly which felt like people were spying on us well we were just having fun. But it was to make sure people were safe. There were creepy places well they werent creppy but it was different. Im not going to give much away so ready the writing, The yellow lines are my personification.

Broken Foot

So this piece of writing is about when I was swimming and I went to go jump in the pool, I missed by mistake and I ended braking my right foot. I had never broken a foot so this was a bit hard to do stuff and to get the hang of it.

The hardest thing was taking showers cause when I was finished I had to stand there and do nothing  since I had to drain the water out of my cast and it was very boring.

Something easy was actually getting up and using the crutches and when I got my boot for my foot it was hard walking but I got better at it and was doing pretty well. I got super happy when I could jump and run since I couldnt do it for a month and a half. I was so happy and proud that I was walking again and this is my story. 

What I have been doing during lockdown

What did you learn, I learnt how to craft and build stuff out of scratch like wood and stuff, I also made my oown vending machine out of scratch but made out of cardboard. It wont be what you are thinking but I think I did pretty good on my crafts during lockdown.

What did you enjoy, I enjoyed spending more quality time with my family and having fun trying new things in my home. Also having to talk more and to play lots of fun games we dont really get to do all the time since we would be busy a lot since I had sports and Mum had work.

What was challenging, not being able to see my friend or going out that much like not being able to see my family and friends. Just staying at home is boring but atleast I got to try new things an do stuff I havent done before by myself.

What was easy, the thing I found easy was being able to focus on stuff that I needed to get done like school work and other stuff with my Mum like family stuff. It was easy for me to just get the stuff done without distractions around me.

What will you do next time, I would get my work finished more earlier so I dont have to think about it and get the work done faster, Also so I dont have to do it later on in the future so I just get it over and done with, do the mahi get the treats.

Olympic value medals

What I learnt about my activity was, what I had learnt about the olympic is the three values that the olympians use when they compete which is Friendship, Respect and Excellence. I also learnt about the paralympics which is when people with disabilietes can also compete in the olympics since they have lots of talent too. What I found fun was, learning new things about the olympics since I want to go there one day. I also enjoy watching the olympics because i like watching people do sports for their country and winning medals. If people that arent from where I live and dont get a medal I still feel proud of them for giving it a go. If they do get a medal im even more proud because they did go n the sport they play. How much medals had your country won?What I had found challenging was, to do all of our creates well we didnt have to do all of our creates but I wanted to since I finshed my olympics slide early so I didnt get to finish but I did start of all of the different creates but I will finish them in my free time. What I found easy during this activity was, say I got a question like how much medals does you country have, I would say... 15 since we have 15 medals that the moment and I know that because I watch they olympics a lot and if I got a question I knew I would be able to say it if I knew it what the answer was since I watch the olympics a lot. I would make sure I did my work right and to fix up my work that was messed up and fix it so it looks good and not messy. Also fix up my spelling mistakes if I had made any during my activities

How much medals has your country won so far?

Floods Inquiry

What did you learn, I leant that floods are like tsunamis but tsunamis are stronger and floods just form like a big puddle which can ruin towns and neighbour hoods. Houses can be destroyed in a flood because all the water is densing it up so it falls and breaks.

What did you enjoy, I enjoyed being able to learn new things about floods that I never knew ever and also learning new things about other natural disasters.

What was challenging, getting everything done and getting the right information for each slide that we had to do and get completed within our time limit.

What was easy, putting down the information that I already knew about some of the slides because I got to get it over and done with. It was just easier to put down stuff I knew so I wouldnt forget to put it down.

What will you do next time, put more detail in my writing and next type of inquiry I will do more thing to explain it.

 

Is it important to be prepared in a natural disaster?

What did you learn, I learnt that in christchurch, kaikoura and napier lots of other places in NZ have had lots of bad earthquakes and other natural disasters aswell. Japan also has lots of bad earthquakes and tsunami's because they are close to a tectonic plate. I found this infomation when I was reasearching for info about earthquakes for my writing sample.

What did you enjoy, I enjoyed finding information about earthquakes and learning new stuff I never knew before because the earthquakes that I saw happen online were from like 1990 and that was a long time ago so thats why I didnt know about those earthquakes. Also it taught me like what to watch out for and what to look out for when a earthquake comes in the future.

What was challenging, finding the right information so I could get the right answer and put them into my own sentences because some information that I found wasnt the right information about my writing so I had find the right info for my writing so It would be good enough and perfect. Also I wanted to find good info so It wouldnt be messed up and I didnt want the wrong info in my writing sample.

What was easy, writing what I knew about earthquakes because I already knew what I needed to add in my writing sample because the infomation I knew was from other stuff that I was doing that included earthquake and natural disaster so I added some of that into my writing sample.

What will you do next time, next time I will find more good information about natural disasters to put into my writing sample about natural disasters because some of my information was wack and I was trying to find good info. I did find good infomation but I needed to find more better info for my writing sample.

SH AT Earthquake animation

What did you learn, I learnt that earthquakes are caused by tectonic plates and other thing under ground.

One of the biggest earthquakes was 9.5 in valdivia.

What did you enjoy, making an animation with my friend and helping others with thing they were doing for the create part. Also learning more stuff I didnt know about earthquakes with others, learning different things with them aswell.

What was challenging, doing the animation by myself because aria was away for the whole thing so I made the animation by myself but I still encluded her because she would have been doing it aswell and she was my buddy for it so I was nice enought to add her.

What was easy, planning for what I was going to do because I had a plan in my head of what I was going to do. Also having a plan for my animation I also knew what I was going to do but I had to check with aria to see if I was aloud to do my plan first.

What will you do next time, do both of our plans into one animation because I just did mine since she was away so I only had time to do my plan because I would have done my part and she would have done mine.

Book Review

What did you learn that volcanic eruption could happen at any time of the day. That all moutains used to be volcano's.

What did you enjoy I enjoyed reading the book because it was funny and really cool to read and I think other people should read it to.

What was challenging finishing the book review in one lesson because we had to do the follow up and I couldnt finish it so i got a lot of time the next week.

What was easy posting the book review to my blog and finishing my book review anf follow up.

What will you do next time take more time int my answers on my follow up and my book review because I was kinda rushing on my questions.

Camp Kaitawa

What did you learn, to try new thing and try different things that you have always wanted to do or things you wanted to acomplish on camp.

What did you enjoy, on camp kayaking was my favorite part but about the worksheet I liked writing about all the great memories I had on camp because everything on camp was like my dreams house. exploring and doing new things everyday would be the best thing ever.

What was challenging, doing my animation because I had to do lots of slides and do mote for my finishing touch of my aniamtion. On camp it was problably going to sleep because it was hard going to sleep with a bunch of people in one space all together. I would have preferd a cabin then a dorm because there were to much people in the dorm. All the girls were talking all night and everynight, there were lots and lots of girls and the boys were noisey as well nextdoor. A cabin would be more peacefull because there is only four people in a cabin but in a girls dorm there is like thousands.

What was easy, typing in the stuff I was doing at camp in my booklet because I still remember some stuff but the stuff I didnt remember were in the booklet so I just got some idea's from the booklets and put it in my answer sheet. I really enjoyed it because I was remembering the fun times I had with my friends at camp.

What will you do next time, I will add more detail in my work and animation because I just polylined it and didnt do any detail because I was in a rush because I messed up in my animation and I was so far in my into my animation and I had to restart most of my animation but at least I finished it in time and got it done and dusted.

 

Sunflower

We were learning about sunflowers and how it grows, why it is named sunflower and some other really cool looking facts about a sunflower. It was cool learning about the sunflower and learning new facts about the sunflower that I never knew about before.

found it easy to get the nice rich, discriptive words I needed for my poem by looking at my brainstorm and getting some idea's, by looking at the flower it self. Getting some instresting facts/ideas about the flower on some websites on the team toroa sites and writing it in my own sentences.

I found it challenging to, do a acrostic poem because Im not a pro with poems but I could do one if I had to. I dont really like doing poems because its not my thing but im also not good at it but im going to practice when I have the time to practice.

Next time I will, practice writing a poem so I know what to do because Im not a pro and I want to get better even though i dont like doing poems. In the school holidays next week ill try to do one myself at home. Hopefully ill get better by the time it is term 2 so I know how to do a poem.

Fav part from Horouta Story.

We were learning about, how the horouta waka had traveled through the sea and where they had came from. How long they traveled or how much places they went to well in the horouta waka.

I found it easy to, create an animation because I have had lots of practice and i already knew how to do an animation with an image.

I found it challenging to, polyline evrything in the image because there were lots of detail in the image and I didnt want to have to do all of it but I did in the end.

Next time I will, try to stay more focused and do more detailed work on my trees, bushes, plants and other things because I had just polylined it or curved it.

Kindness Logo!

I was learning about. How to put audio into my google slide/others and also learning about what a logo is about. Or the meaning of a company's logo.

I found it hard to, add audio because I had forgot how to do it even though I have added audio before. It was in the past like a few years ago but now it is so easy now that I know.

I found it easy to, create a logo because I knew what I do at school, home or at other places and knew what design I was doing for my logo.

I really enjoyed, having fun creating my logo about... and seeing everyone else cool looking logo's. Some of them were awesome and were better then mine (in my opinion) and im being honest.

Next time I will, do somethink more basic because you dont have to go over the top but I think mine was pretty basic to be basic.

Triathalon

We were learning about, training for the triathlon so we were ready and knew what we were doing on the really day. Knowing how much laps of running, biking or swimming we had to do so we didnt mess up.

I found it easy to, put everything I did at the triathalon because I could remember what I did step by step of the way. To tell the reader what types of thing I did at the triathlon and each thing everyone else was doing,

I found it challenging to, put more paragraphs in my writing and Add more planning so it could be more rich. To have less boring words so it can paint a really good detailed picture in the readers mind.

Next time I will, try to challenge myself and do more rich words and more tence in my writing next time I write. Also paint a picture in my own head so I know it will paint a picture it someone elses head too like, one of my friends, family, other people from different place or just anyone.
